On the large facade of the building on via del Porto Fluviale, the painting of Agostino Iacurci depicts an enormous urban aquarium where a figure is happily swimming. A vortex of fish surrounds it, taking part in the movement in perfect harmony, which is a metaphor for a peaceful coexistence. The artistis able to create a new urban habitat. But to do so he invites us to reflect; one must abandon moral judgements, and not give into prefabricated messages, but instead look at the world with a critical eye. The clean and simple lines, typical of Iacurci’s work, transform the painting into a message directed towho is looking at it.

A cynical and intelligent irony positions Agostino’s tales on the perennial threshold between innocence and artifice, serenity and catastrophe, in a magnetic tension that is the interpretive key to our very existence.
