IDLE MIND…
“My name is Redempta and I am a 55-year-old married mother of six. I joined the Carakana program in 2017 when they came to Lang’ata women prison. Before joining the program, I used to spend days sleeping after doing the prison mandated work. It was all I did and I was filled with thoughts of home which gave me mild depression. When I started stitching, the process consumed my mind and gave me peace. From the payments I have received, I have been able to buy gifts for my children as well as meet my personal needs . May God bless Carakana for remembering to empower us.”
