Creatures with strikingly humorous facial expressions are motifs that frequently appear in Okamura’s works. Embroidery on cloth tie-dyed with two different shades of indigo is a type of work that has been carried out mainly in the 1970s. The numbers on the lower left and right corners of the cloth indicate the year of creation, but are at once considered to have been added for their ornamental quality.
