Dorothia is one of the women supported by Carakana Program and here she shares her story: HOPE AWAY FROM HOME "My name is Dorothia, I am a South African national serving a sentence at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison because of drug trafficking. I am a 32-year-old mother of one. I joined the cross stitch project in early 2018. I have earned a good amount of money that helps me to take care of myself since I don’t get visitors and it is expensive for my family to send money from South Africa to me. I thank Carakana because it was really difficult for me to cope with the situation here especially being a foreigner locked away in a different country. "
