Fishing Basket

This fishing basket is made and used by men. It is popped over the fish in Lake Turkana along the shallow sandy shores where fish is visible. The frame is made of flexible sticks and woven with reeds. Fishermen lower the trap directly onto a shoal or individual fish to catch them.
