A “white fiver” issued by the Bank of England in 1937. This type of five Pound note was the target of the infamous counterfeit operation run by SS-Sturmbannführer Bernhard Krüger in Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The well made fake fivers caused the Bank of England to withdraw the white fiver.
