Human beings have been trying to transcend their own limits to better control the world. A longing for expansion has exceeds the limits of flexibility of our mind and body, and creates gaps between reality and ideal.
The work is inspired by traditional paper crafts for the Dragon Boat festival: thin sheets of paper are transformed into baskets, lanterns, fruits and vegetables. The artist has detected a new possibility of paper as a formal language: from concrete to abstract, from tangible to intangible, from regularity to freedom. The continuity of paper becomes an important element of formal language, as the stretching, rolling, folding and twisting of paper have brought an infinite number of unexpected interesting results out of their original appearances.
