Created as a response to complaints from San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein about the Sisters’ activities. “Mayor [Feinstein] stressed to [Sister Missionary Position] that she saw red every time the Sisters appeared in the paper. She demanded we clean up our act. … I was assigned to produce and direct an event we called the Red Party. It would be a satirical send-up of communism, since the mayor considered us a Bolshevik nightmare.”
