Floating into the night inhabits the centre of Aspinwall’s internal garden. It is an architectural structure and an invitation to occupy, to dwell, to reflect and take a breath. The canopy of this architectural frame depicts the star system of the sky, exactly as it appears on 12 December 2016, the opening night of Forming in the pupil of an eye. Floating into the night is temporary, but it is a timeless example as a meeting place for traditions and knowledge to be passed on, where something
is shared and transmitted. It looks to the sky, as our many ancestors did to anchor and guide them, and thus becomes a place maker.
