This piece of garden statuary represents the nymph Flora, who is said to have given human beings the first flowers, born from the caresses of warm breezes. The Carrara-born sculptor Pietro Baratta achieved fame through prestigious commissions at court thanks to the remarkable technical virtuosity evident in his design of subtle figures with mythological content.
