Cameron, who received a camera from her daughter on her 48th birthday and was drawn into its appeal, would become a photographer decorating the history of photography itself in a matter of just over a decade. While attempting to use photography in a style with a painting aesthetic similar to the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, she also attempted tenacious expressions in which she used facial close-ups to penetrate to the depths of her subjects' souls. This is Cameron's representative piece, in which she tied together idealism and realism, aiming to achieve photographic art that possesses both beauty and truth.
