Having taken up graffiti back in the early 1970s, Blade is one of the movement's veterans. Blade's work is heavily influenced by music. His abstractions – some (but not all) of which center on letters – suggest an affinity to Kandinsky's "painted music". Blade himself provides the following simple explanation of his work: "I dream in color!"
