The Flyingf Tinker represents a novel product of the Toy Tinkers company, original makers of Tinkertoy building sets. The company, founded by Charles Pajeau and Robert Petit, began making its Tinkertoys in 1914; other toys, like this propeller toy, followed in 1918. Advertising for the toy pledged "Flying Tinker teaches the first principles of aviation, while the operator remains safely on the ground." Such learning, apparently, came at a cost. Additional flying yellow propellers could be purchased from the company at a price of six blades for 12 cents.
