Folding reflecting stereoscope and case from the manuscript of Wheatstone’s 2nd paper on vision

Figure accompanying the original manuscript prepared for publication in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, volume 142 (1852) to illustrate Charles Wheatstone's second paper on Stereoscopy. The paper was published as 'Contributions to the Physiology of Vision - Part the Second. On some remarkable, and hitherto unobserved, Phenomena of Binocular Vision (continued)', also delivered as the Bakerian Lecture. The artist is unknown.
