Fond Farewell

Emily Brown has noted that the large-scale format of her meditative drawings of trees amplifies the possibilities of how viewers relate to them. Working from a photograph of the tops of trees in Chester County that were subsequently uprooted by a tornado, Brown captures the jarring experience of looking at nature’s forms and rhythms as they swirl through the space above us.
