Bergen-Belsen concentration camp was liberated by troops from the British 11th Armoured Division on 15 April 1945. Here British soldiers supervise the distribution of food, shortly after its liberation. Nearly 14,000 inmates, many suffering from malnutrition or too ill to recover, died after liberation.
