At the invitation of Oregon State University, SEKINO Jun’ichirō visited the United States in the summer of 1969 to teach printmaking. This particular print was among the work displayed in a 1974 exhibition of what he had seen during his stay. For Sekino, his multiple visits to the United States presented chances for him to appreciate the natural world in a new light, as reflected in this piece, Forest in Oregon.
