Forest Mill

Etude work preceded the writing of the picture "Forest Mill". The artist liked the surroundings of Preobrazhenskaya station so much that, despite his age, he walked around them tirelessly, made small horses (10-15 km each) on horseback or on a ship, in his opinion, with a sketchbook. Clear summer morning. So it hakes to enter into the shadow of this forest, admire the slender trunks and lush green trees, look at the modest flowers growing at their foot. The crystal clear water reflects both the blue sky with clouds floating on it, and the timbered walls of an abandoned building. The structure gives the picture a genre character, introduces a social principle into it. Before us not just an image of Russian nature, but also an image of a Russian village.
