This formal dress was made from the opulent brocade, a type of extremely valuable fabric toward the end of the 17th century. It was quite possible that the owner intended to show off her fortune and social status through all these luxuries. Structured through whalebones, the bodice is connected through the back ribbons. Wide round neckline and sleeves in half-length expose the elegant and beautiful body of the wearer. The full skirt was constructed from uncut joined panels, helping to present the sumptuous and precious textile even more. On the silver base of the stomacher, green and metal shine threads were used elaborately for intricate embroidery in rounded patterns. Together with the bright orange brocade cuff, the major green base on the garment echo perfectly with the stunning floral patterns.
