This garden between Scotty's Porch and the Powerhouse would have been a showplace, however was never completed. It was framed by an impressive surround of arches with a central pergola set in a small pond, the gardens would have provided a cool respite from the harsh desert landscape. Perhaps Mrs. Johnson would have found it a peaceful entry into the chapel she intended to build near the northwest end of the house.
