Former splint house

Raw materials were received and finished goods were shipped by rail until well into the 20th century. Consequently, Gropius built a small cargo-handling house—the so-called "Spänehaus" (splint house)—right next to the factory side of the railway connection, which was extended at the beginning of the 1930s, giving it its current shape.
