Inspired by Brazilian indigenous traditions, Formosa Decelerator (2014) creates an environment that fuses the popular practice of shamanism through healing herbs and the use of hammocks for sleeping. Contained by the octagonal structure, the sixteen hammocks are an open invitation to relax. The idea revolves around a kind of temple of idleness, an invitation to inactivity, a space that venerates nonchalance and deactivation, in contrast to our accelerated, superficial and volatile times. This installation seeks to evoke a collective atmosphere based on complicity and relationships that arise from the interaction of the public, creating a tool to transform the challenge of living together in harmony.
