Carbon fibre body fragment from the Williams FW16, 1994 Adelaide Grand Prix.
The Williams FW16 was driven by Damon Hill, who finished the 1994 Formula One season as runner up to Benetton driver Michael Schumacher. The Championship was controversially decided in the final race of the season, the Adelaide Grand Prix. Hill trailed Schumacher in the Championship by just one point, and could have overtaken the German by finishing before him in the race. However, in the 35th lap, the two Championsip contenders collided and were both forced to retire, allowing Schumacher to win his first of seven titles. The FW16 was also the vehicle in which legendary Brazilian driver Ayrton Senna was killed in the third race of the season at the San Marino Grand Prix.
