Known as La Fuerza Real de Iloilo during the Spanish times, Fort Nuestra Señora del Rosario (popularly known as Fort San Pedro) is a fortification built by the Spaniards in 1617 as a protection against pirates. It became an army headquarters in the 1900s. The structure was totally destroyed by American Liberation Forces in 1945.
