Foundation of Love' by Azza Al Qubaisi highlights the ever-changing patterns of the desert, date palm tree and Arabic alphabets. The sculpture base is shaped as the Arabic word (love) with lines inspired by the desert curves and sand dune patterns. The sculptures rises upwards using the shape of palm tree 'eyes' from the trunk (kurab). The pieces are welded together in an asymmetrical way to reflect changes in life, feelings and our connection to each other. One of the pieces contains an inlay of gold wire in a circular shape to represent love and how precious it is. (Commissioned by Tashkeel)
