Founder figures in the Naumburg Cathedral, Wilhelm von Caburg

The count was a bitter opponent of the controversial Emperor Henry IV. In 1075 Wilhelm von Camburg had to flee to the neighbouring Slavs to save himself. Just look how melancholic he looks! And how the Naumburg Master was able to depict limbs wrapped in robes in an extremely artistic way!
