Ramesh Shukla, now 81, recounts the story of his journey to the United Arab Emirates, before the country’s unification, in the 1960s with his wife, Taru, and son, Neel. He recalls meeting the leaders of the two emirates who would later become to be known as the Founding Fathers and also witnessing the transformation of a land that he would call home for more than 50 years.
