Four Finalists Preparing for Warsaw

On September 27, 2000, and just before heading to Warsaw for the International Chopin Piano Competition, the 4 top prize winners from the US Competition performed at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, DC. The pianists are shown here with His Excellency Ambassador Przemysław Grudziński, Lady Blanka Rosenstiel and Minister Bogusław Majewski. Even though the Americans didn't bring home any prizes from Warsaw that year, it was an experience of a lifetime that will never be forgotten.
