Fragment of a male poncho recently recomposed as a cape

This interesting object was originally a poncho, as we can tell from the opening for the head that was later sewn shut by an antiques dealer.
In the extremely arid environment of Peru’s Southern Coast fragile materials including textiles like this one have remained intact until our days.
