Frame used by Christiano Jr. at the International Exhibition of Porto in 1865 to present “Photographias de customs brasileiros”. It featured 12 photographs of African slaves who lived in Rio de Janeiro, and under each photograph is written the African nation or port that shipped them. These images were, after being exposed, offered to D. Fernando, king of Portugal by the photographer and we can read the dedication on the frames: “a. s. m. El Rei D. Fernando, Christiano Junior, 45, Quitanda Street, 2nd floor ”
