The bag you are seeing is the frame and clasp that functioned to open and close a bag. The frame and clasp performed two functions, which are for glamorous decoration and for closing and locking a handbag. In the 1900s, the social activities of women gradually increased, and they needed a bag to safely keep their items. Based on this need, a strong frame called a ‘clasp’ started to be used instead of tightening a bag only with a string.Because a frame and clasp could be continued to be used by replacement once leather was worn out, many of the antique ones remain to this day. The logo of Simone andbag Museum, which can be seen nearby the clasp took its motif from the form of opening a clasp seen when looking down from the top. This logo contains the philosophy of Simone, desiring to fill the museum with various values, just as a bag is filled with valuable items.
