Francis Lewis Wills, Jerry Shaw and Claude Friese-Greene in a DH98 biplane

Aerofilms Ltd was established in May 1919 by First World War veteran Francis Lewis Wills and daredevil aviator Claude Grahame-White. Spurred on by wartime advances in aeroplane engineering and aerial reconnaissance, they spotted an opportunity to make a business out of aerial photography.
