Francisco António Norberto dos Santos Pinto (1815-60)

Francisco António Norberto dos Santos Pinto (1815-60) was an important Portuguese composer of the first half of the 19th century. He was a french Horn player on the Royal Cavalry band and integrated the Teatro de S. Carlos orchestra. He was also a horn teacher at the National Conservatory. In this portrait he holds, in his right hand, the score of his 8th Overture, dedicated to Franz Liszt.
