Bust of young man. Long face, rectangular, from the front. Long, curly black hair. Dark brown eyebrows and eyes. eyelids and accentuated dark circles. Small nose and mouth. Flushed faces. Double chin. He wears a black coat, with a white lace jabot topped by a red bow and, under it, a ribbon in the same color holding an oval medallion with the insignia of the Order of Christ. Right arm articulated across the chest; hand under white lace fist, holding kind of stick. Dark background. In the upper left corner, in white characters, the inscription: "D^FRANCISCO^Xer^/DE^TAVORA^". Francisco Xavier de Távora (April 13, 1687 - ?) was a Portuguese colonial administrator. He ruled Rio de Janeiro from 1713 to 1716.
