Racing cars have always been one of Franco Maria Ricci's greatest passions. In 1955 he received as a gift from his mother a Giulietta Spider Alfa Romeo, with whom he participated in numerous races. Ricci was a very good driver, but stopped racing after the death of his friend Eugenio Castellotti in a terrible accident during a test drive. The Jaguar E portrayed in this shot was purchased not for its speed, rather for its beauty: so beautiful that Franco Maria Ricci decided to place it at the entrance of his museum, since it was the first work of art to enter his collection.
