The magnate Rockefeller commissioned Diego to create a mural at the Rockefeller Center. He painted "Man at the Crossroads Looking with Uncertainty but with Hope and High Vision to the Choosing of a New and Better Future." The mural was destroyed because it included an image of the socialist leader, Lenin.
