Friendship is a light that man emits, and anyone can pass on to another person, thereby enriching this other person and themself. This is why this feeling is so precious and worth protecting. This painting was given to M. K. Čiurlionis patroness and friend B. Wolman as a gift and token of their friendship.
The main element of meaning in this painted allegory is a ball of light - the friendship that can be given and shared. The person holding it looks like an Egyptian sculpture and reminds the widely known image of Nefertiti. That is no coincidence as M. K. Čiurlionis was interested in Egypt himself.
