About the series: Anonymous: In Anonymous I used stand-ins for self portraits, which allowed me to step outside of myself. The nameless women silently speak for me and they become me in a universal sense; I think it might be easier to reveal our deeper truths anonymously. In essence these photographs are emotion portraits, and by stepping away from my individuality I feel it invites the viewer to engage themselves in the mystery of their own truths, and to contemplate how the emotions depicted resonate in their own lives.
About the Photographer: Sofia Lopez Mañan, b 1982, Argentina, was awarded by Mono Book as an Emerging Photographer and was selected to attend the Joops Master class, in 2012. Her work as been exhibited in Argentina, Spain and in various international art fairs. Her work Anonymous was published also in 2012 in Al Limite Magazine, Eyemazing and Mono by Gomma Books.
