About the series: Citizen Nagar: We keep writing to our state. There is so much to write. They seem to have forgotten the people of Citizen Nagar. We'll be right back once again. This photo essay is about the hundred odd riot-affected Muslim minority families of the internally displaced people (IDP) of Naroda Patiya in Ahmedabad, who have been resettled next to a landfill for the last eleven years.
About the Photographer: Mohit Bhatia, b. 1983, India. Photography arrived quite late in Mohit’s life, so to make up for the lost time he joined National Institute of Design to do what he enjoyed most. Interested in contemporary Indian society, and having established a documentary approach, he believes in focusing extensively on what remains unsaid.
