About the series: Ram Aur Shyam: Kannagi Khanna grew up hearing her grandfather’s unfulfilled story of wanting to become an actor and joining Bollywood. This played a significant role in her childhood. Dreams never die; they remain with you forever as faded or forgotten fantasies. 'Ram and Shyam' captures one man’s story and dream and its effect on his granddaughter.
About the Photographer: Kannagi Khanna, b. 1989, India, studied audio-visual production at SIMC, Pune. Her previous photo series, ‘Hollywood’ was first shown at the Delhi Photo Festival 2011 and subsequently published in Better Photography, Kyoorius Design Magazin and Biblio,. Her works also include a documentary with National Geographic Channel and a cover shoot for Gulzar’s latest novel by Penguin Books. She is currently based in Mumbai.
