This dress is an excellent example of the mid-19th-cenutry silhouette, but the flamboyant, saccharine pink color of the dress is most certainly its focal point. I plan to include this dress in my 2018 exhibition about the history of pink in fashion. Pictured here with its day bodice, the ensemble also includes a separate bodice for evening wear.
