The J. Paul Getty Museum
Los Angeles, United States

Statuette of Socrates standing on a schematized Ionic capital. He wears a mantle that covers his left arm and stretches over his protruding belly. His left hand rests on his hip, and his right arm hangs loosely, resting on his thigh. He has the readily identifiable features of other Socrates portraits, such as the pug nose. His face shows signs of weathering, but the rest of his body is well-preserved.
