A very attractive and complete ring with filigree decoration, in excellent condition. Two panels of six filigree scrolls are each separated by a fine filigree line bisecting the bezel. Gold pellets sit in the centre of each scroll and in some of the angles between them.

  • Provenance: This group of objects known as 'The West Yorkshire Hoard' was discovered by a metal detectorist in two groups (2008 T553 and 2009 T221) in the Leeds area of West Yorkshire. The finds were reported to the Portable Antiquities Scheme and qualified as Treasure, so were sent to The British Museum. The objects were on loan from DCMS in Leeds City Museum from 2nd November 2011, and were officially released to Leeds Museums and Galleries on 13th January 2012.
