Frontispiece and title page for the Reliquiae Baxterianae showing portrait of Baxter. Dr Williams's Library holds six copies of the first edition. The copy shown is from the collection of Joshua Wilson (1795- 1874). Examining the title pages shows that each is of different size and paper quality varies between copies. The study of variations between editions and copies can has been one of the major developments in scholarly editing over the last 30 years.
