Paco de Lucía's music has been the soundtrack of Spain's democratic transition since he recorded 'Fuente y caudal' in 1973, a key album that included his rumba 'Entre dos aguas', the score of which he signed with José Torregrosa.

This album, recorded in 1973, represented Paco de Lucía's leap to popularity. This album opened a new cycle in Paco de Lucía's career. The Algeciras-born guitarist had reached a level of technical and stylistic perfection that no flamenco guitarist had achieved before. The degree of maturity of the young guitarist from Algeciras, both in terms of creation and interpretation, allows him to display a surprising range of expressive means. Paco de Lucía's national and international projection became a reality with the release of this album, thanks to the popularity of the rumba 'Entre dos aguas', a track added at the last minute to complete an album with only seven tracks.

Released in 1973, 'Fuente y caudal' also had a significant impact on fans who followed the career of the guitarist from Algeciras more closely, bringing flamenco closer to many people who had previously remained indifferent to this type of music. At the same time, this recording had a decisive influence on the new generation of flamenco guitarists, who found in Paco their main teacher and mentor.
