Fukusa with fowls design

Fukusa is a ceremonial cloth used to cover a gift. It is made in double layer and has an embroidery of good omens. This fukusa was probably used during the 19th century. It is a silk crepe cloth with design of fowls and haystacks. The gold embroidery against the light blue silk adds brilliance to its appearance.
