February – June 2019, Fundred project organizers convened dozens of Fundred artists, lead impacted families, and lead prevention advocates in Washington, DC to connect, create, and meet with their elected representatives. The Fundred Artists had 25 meetings with Republican, Democratic and Independent members of Congress, sharing their personal stories of lead in their home paint and drinking water, broader lead issues in their communities, and to advocate for lead poisoning prevention and resources for lead impacted communities. Fundred artists were hosted by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the Speaker’s Ceremonial Office. The program coincided with an exhibition of the Fundred Reserve on view at Eaton DC, that was visited by members of congress including Rep Dan Kildee (MI-5) and Rep Rashida Tlaib (MI-13).
