Funerary bed of Herty, with lion feet

A funerary bed was sometimes used to support the mummy in the tomb chamber. The scenes painted on this rare surviving example represent the deceased, Herty, and his wife Tshenentere in traditional Egyptian funerary scenes but dressed in Roman style and drawn full-face.
