The relief depicts a couple of spouses in the act of clasping their right hand, a gesture that symbolizes marriage. Behind them are the busts of two children. The inscription states that the burial was made by a woman, Vettia Eleutheris, and her freedwoman, Vettia Hospita, for L. Vettius Alexander and for his daughter; the two had already died at the time when the tomb was built. 1st century BC
