Locomotive built by Beyer Peacock in 1891 and acquired by the Royal Company of Portuguese Railways for suburban passenger services in Lisbon region on the lines to Sintra, Cascais and cross-city services to Sacavém. Between 1911 and 1923, the company modified nine of these locomotives. At a later stage, towards the end os the locomotives's career, they were used on shunting duties at various stations and double-headed service on the gradient to Albergaria dos Doze. The locomotives always utilized coal and were never converted to burn oil.
